The Waratah Unit, located at Robina Hospital, is a 16-bed acute inpatient facility providing two dedicated pathways of care for consumers who are experiencing severe mental health conditions and can no longer be safely managed within a community setting.
Our approach is recovery-oriented, evidence-based and person-centred, focusing on stabilising acute symptoms, promoting wellbeing and supporting a smooth transition to the community. Care is provided in a therapeutic environment that prioritises engagement, safety and dignity.
Services are delivered by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team, including registered nurses, psychiatrists and medical registrars, occupational therapists, psychologists, social workers, peer and carer support workers, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers. Together, this diverse team provides expert clinical care, evidence-based therapies, functional and psychosocial support, and culturally safe, recovery-oriented interventions.
