Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) community teams provide Gold Coast–wide care and operate across multiple locations, including Proxima, the Robina Health Precinct and the Head to Health Kids site in Nerang, depending on what best meets the needs of the child or young person.
Our team is committed to providing intensive, assertive outreach to minimise the stigma and trauma associated with psychosis.
We focus on intensive outreach and support, working closely with primary care and other community organisations to offer comprehensive treatment that addresses the unique challenges faced during early psychosis, including the impact of distress/trauma on both the young person and their family.
Referrals can be made by the CYMHS Access Team (for those under 18 years of age), Acute Care Team (for those 18 years of age and older), or inpatient mental health units.
If you are a current consumers or carer of a current consumer of CYMHS Early Psychosis Service, contact your treating team on the details provided. We ensure that you and your family play a central role in all decisions, and you can contact us to discuss a young person’s current care.
If you are new to the service, are a young person or carer of a young person, you can self-refer to our service. Health care providers can also refer you to our specialised mental health care teams. Visit our Referrals and Accessing Care page for more information on how to access this service.
