ArtBeat Visual Art Exhibition: Opening at Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital from 6 October 2026
ArtBeat Festival: Taking place at the Gold Coast University Hospital rear parklands from 11am-2pm on Friday 9 October 2026.

The annual art exhibition and festival showcases the artistic talents of mental health consumers and provides a platform for creativity, self-expression and awareness.
Aligned with Queensland Mental Health Week, the event aims to remove the stigma around mental health by giving consumers a platform to express their experiences in their own way, offering a joyful space for the community to come together to celebrate their strengths and have important conversations about mental health.
Mental health consumers commence work months in advance, putting their heart and soul into their creations. Consumers are supported by the Mental Health and Specialty Services Creative Artisan and Music Therapist, who provide guidance and help consumers to prepare their creative contributions for display or performance.
Channelling their self-expression into something that can be shared publicly each year encourages many of our consumers to remain focused on recovery and builds meaning and purpose into their lives.
Participation in ArtBeat is open to people with lived experience of mental illness. Entrants may submit up to three original artworks which could include paintings, drawings, sculptures or poetry. We also welcome musicians with lived experience to take to the stage during the festival.
The entry form will become available later in the year.
